Here, beginners find encouragement, seasoned artists discover fresh inspiration, and everyone in between connects across genres and styles.

Yolande is on a journey and discovering the musical and lyrical content that makes her work so unique. She is currently reacquainting herself with old lyrics and reimagining and collaborating with others as she finds new ways to express herself.
With a powerful voice and heartfelt lyrics, Yolande is becoming more confident with every performance and playfully learning to embrace songwriting and her passion for music.

What to Expect
You can expect a mix of original music, works in progress, and spontaneous collaborations, with performers sharing everything from stripped-back acoustic sets to more polished pieces. The atmosphere is supportive and low-pressure, making it just as enjoyable for listeners as it is for those stepping up to perform.
If you’d like to contribute, bring your instrument (if needed), any lyrics or notes you’re working on, and a willingness to share—whether that’s a full song, a rough idea, or even just your voice. A tuner, capo, or backing tracks can be helpful, but most importantly, come with an open mind and a readiness to connect with other musicians.
How it Began
Songwriters Corner began with a simple conversation among musicians at The Wolf’s Tavern Open Mic Night, where a shared desire to strengthen their songwriting skills first took shape. While they had a natural ability to compose music, many found lyrics more challenging, which sparked the idea to collaborate and learn from one another. A tradition was born —an opportunity to write together, push creative boundaries, and grow both individually and as a group.
Over time, this collective effort evolved into a supportive space dedicated to developing songwriting in all its forms.

Meet your hosts
Kocoa Brown
Kocoa Brown is the front woman for Mahogany Soulz. Known for her dynamic up close and personal presence on stage or in the audience, Kocoa uses these skills as she hosts regular jam sessions encouraging performers to perform their music.
Mischa Huijsmans
Mischa plays guitar and sings backing vocals for Mahogany Soulz. He moved to London in 2013 and quickly fell into the South London jam scene. The vibrant community where musicians from all walks of live come together let him cultivate his passion for music.
